At Altitude Games, we believe in nurturing the next generation of game developers, and our participation in the Global Game Jam 2025 @ Benilde was a testament to that commitment. This year’s Global Game Jam, organized by the Gamers Union for Innovation and Leadership Development (IGDA-GUILD) and co-presented by Mapúa Game Consensus (MGC), was an exciting return to 48 hours of on-site game development at De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB). As the longest-running GGJ site in the Philippines, Benilde continues to be a hub of creativity and innovation, and Altitude Games was proud to be a part of it.
Our Lead Game Designer, Jay Gavarra, joined the panel of judges, lending his expertise to evaluate the incredible submissions. Reflecting on the experience, Jay shared, “Playing all the games, talking to the devs, and seeing how proud they were of their creations was inspiring. Many of us at Altitude Games were also game jam participants in the past, and I’m really happy that the spirit of creativity and collaboration is still alive.”
From January 24-26, 2025, the campus was alive with the energy of students and professionals collaborating to create unique games based on this year’s theme: “Bubbles.”
With around 20 original games developed, the event showcased the incredible talent and dedication of aspiring game creators.
The air was electric as participants shared their creations, laughed at unexpected bugs, and beamed with pride at their achievements.
The highlight of the jam was the Best Game award winner, “Sincerely Yours, Future Me”, which also took home the Best Narrative award.
Altitude Games is dedicated to fostering talent and providing opportunities for aspiring developers to learn, grow, and make their mark in the industry. Events like GGJ @ Benilde align perfectly with our vision of empowering game creators and strengthening the development community in the Philippines.
